We are seeking a skilled person to plan and lead the committee’s influencing strategy and manage the organisation on a day-to- day basis. We are seeking someone who has excellent analytical and communication skills, knowledge and/or experience of Westminster and/or Whitehall, and who can work to numerous deadlines and manage their own time. Knowledge of youth justice issues and media relations would be an advantage. The post is for three to five days per week, on a time limited maternity cover contract of nine months, and will be based in Central London.
The Standing Committee for Youth Justice (SCYJ) is an alliance of not-for-profit organisations working to promote the welfare of children who become engaged in the youth justice system. SCYJ advocates a child-focused youth justice system, protecting the best interests of the children themselves and the community at large.

This is a nine month maternity leave contract. The post will commence on 15th January 2018 and run until 15th October 2018.
Salary: £25,000 – £35,000* (FTE) dependent on experience and number of days worked. *Please note that the higher salary level is only available to those wishing to work three days per week; while the lower salary level is available for those working four – five days per week.
